User Beware
"I bought this product as a replacement/alternative to a product with similar function that I had been using from a different brand on the recommendation of the salon I purchase my products at. I liked the pump design (rather than shake in) and the organic/chemical free nature of the product. Unfortunately I had to discontinue use of it as I experienced what can only be described as chemical burns on my hands. Large sections of the top layers of skin on my palms have been burned away and I have similar burned and cracked skin on my fingers as well which have bled and are painful. Both the skin on my hands and my hair have been made very dry from using this product and after speaking with my hairdresser at my most recent hair appointment they have said that my scalp has been similarly affected. The problem is that the powder has a long "memory" and remains in the hair for days even with washing and every time you touch the hair and make contact with the powder it dries your skin out again. Even with thorough hand washing after using it and applying hand creams my skin is in very poor condition. Nowhere online or in the usage instructions does it say that this product can't be used daily or that there are any ingredients in it that should cause an issue like this. Speaking with the salon I purchased from, they have said that they haven't heard of this issue happening with anyone else so I feel that this may just be a case of the product not being suitable for me, which is okay and it does happen but I have never had this issue before. Additionally, the pump worked well for the first few uses but it then became very difficult to get the product out and it needs to be shaken or knocked to release the powder again between pumps. I can't recommend it or rate it higher than 2 stars."
